Contest Time – adidas Jo’Bulani, The Official Match Ball Of The 2010 World Cup Final

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Following up on the adidas Jabulani (the Official Match Ball of the 2010 World Cup) Contest last month, we’ve been able to take it up a notch and continue with the South Africa theme.

Two weeks ago adidas announced that they would be paying tribute to the city of Johannesburg (as host of the 2010 World Cup Finals) with a separate 2010 World Cup Final Match Ball named the Jo’Bulani.

Thanks to the crew over at adidas, you’ve got the chance to get your hands on one that hasn’t been touched, kicked or taken out of the box.

So let us know in the comment section over at The Original Winger why you deserve the Official Ball of the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.

We got this picture sent to us by Dakota who headed over to England recently to check out some game and absorb what England has to offer. He headed up to Stoke to catch a game and he repped hard. Not only did he proudly sport the BPFC Crest t-shirt, but he went all in using the American flag as a cape. I like your style homie!

Checking In With Our Boy Herculez Gomez

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

We caught up with our boy Herculez Gomez over the weekend as he is back in LA getting in some training with Chivas USA after his incredible season with Puebla in the Mexican Primera Division. Let’s all think for a minute about what it means to be the first American soccer player to ever lead a foreign league in goal scoring. That is a monumental feat and we couldn’t be happier that it happened to Herc.

This has been a big year for American soccer and we’re hoping that the rest of 2010 is equally as massive and successful for for soccer in the USA. With the soccer in America movement strongly underway, check out Herc wearing our brand new BPFC Philly LOVE graphic. This graphic is our small way of paying homage and respect to a city that has an incredible history of soccer in the United States, and that has come on the scene very heavy recently and finally saw their own MLS team jump start their franchise history in 2010. Here’s to the good folks of Philly, a great city and our small part to toast the history of soccer in Philly and wish it all the best going forward.
